Luggage

So, I landed in England yesterday morning (7 AM for the great people of England, 2 AM for my mother and I). We had previously decided to get public transport to Dorking, where we would be staying for several days. We got to the London underground and took the tube to South Kensington, where we were going to transfer lines to get to Victoria, and then get on a train bound for Surrey. In our fabulous plans to be thrifty and only spend 8 pounds and 50 pence each to get to our accommodations, we forgot about England and their lack of elevators, and even worse- plethora of stairs. As I dragged my 55 pound bag up and down underground tunnels, with a 45 pound backpack on my shoulders, I just tried to think of the money I was saving for other things. Of course, the cruel irony is that I will have to take public transportation back to the airport in 5 months, and that money I saved on public transportation earlier will have been put to use to buy me fabulous things that will make my suitcase even more heavy then it was before.
